“..Neeyati, I always wanted to come to this place with you. I knew you would love this place” he told her. Abheet was probably the only person who knew Neeyati too well. At time she would check twice if he had some super natural powers to read her mind but no Abheet was perfectly normal.
Abheet has always had this thing about him. He was always very sure of what he was doing, he always knew the perfect plan, the perfect place for them to go, the perfect destination for a drive, and he knew it all. Abheet had an aura that said a lot about him, he was quit but when he spoke his words made sense. He was the kinds who never share never speak about their feelings not even to the one they adore or to put it in other words, whom they fall for. He had his own ways to make Neeyati special and care for her.
Neeyati was the one who was hopelessly romantic. She adored Abheet. Her days ended with Abheet being the last thing on her mind and started with a smile and the sole reason being Abheet. Neeyati always knew what Abheet never told her. She knew how to read between the lines that he spoke. She knew he cared in his own amazing ways. She would secretly blush when he says something nice. He was the sole reason that kept her faith on a wishing star alive.
It had been a while since they went out or even met. Abheet had a very busy schedule his work always kept him busy. Once in office Abheet was in a different world a different person. Neeyati respected this gesture; she knew how much his dreams meant to him. So, that day Abheet finally had time and they made a plan for a drive. Of course it was Abheet’s idea of where they will go. He told Neeyati it was a surprise for her and he was sure she would love it.
Neeyati was excited as they were meeting after a very long time and will finally spend some quality time together; rather the much needed quality time. He came to pick her up at their usual point. It started to drizzle, as always. It rained whenever they met. Some kind of trademark it had become. She walked towards his car he started the engine, they saw each other smiled. The smiles they both loved. Abheet loved the way she smiled and for Neeyati his smile lit up thousand bulbs in her heart.
Cutting through the heavy city traffic they were on the highway. She was sitting right beside him careless, relaxed, content and happy. She was complete. They didn’t speak for around 15-20 mins. The silence was always very comfortable between them, they heard each other loud and heard things which words can’t even begin to describe. They never needed words for silence was the other name to Abheet and with him she learned the art too. Wo Lamhe by Jal was playing in the background. They both knew what it was all about as they say when words fail one thing that comes to express the inexpressible is music.
Finally Neeyati broke the silence. She was not the quit types. She loved talking to him, telling him random things and all the things she could think of. He loved listening to her, watching her change thousand expressions in a minute. He always wondered if that was technically even possible; but then to him she wasn’t human she was a creature from another planet.
When they were near the place where Abheet was taking her, she started becoming quit and was just mesmerized by the beauty she saw around her. She was smiling ear to ear. Abheet’s purpose was served. They both loved nature and the beautiful scenery caught Neeyati’s attention. When they finally reached and his car stopped Neeyati couldn’t stop but smile and she looked at Abheet with those big twinkling eyes and the smile he had brought her there for. He was relieved.
She got out of the car and was enjoying every bit of that place. The place was silent, it was the perfect weather they both had the perfect companion. She hopped from one place to another he watched her. She looked at Abheet and asked him “how did you know I would love this place? This place is so beautiful why didn’t u bring me here before and how come you never told me about this place?”
Abheet kept looking at her and wondering how come she speaks so fast and does she manages those expressions. After a long pause he told her “Neeyati I saw this place some 3 years back and the moment I came here I knew you would love this place. I always wanted to be here with you and spend time.” She knew what he said was true. Abheet always meant each word he said and they meant everything to her.
This happened some three years back. They both still have the hangover not that they didn’t meet after that but that day it was something magical. They stood right beside each other, looking in one direction letting silence do the talking. Silence was the medium that made them say a lot and hear a lot. In silence they heard which could never be put into words.
